Default B20 BLOCK

Ok my cousin got a b20 that is hard to rotate, the block has been bored out to 85mm, its got a knife edged eagle crank, eagle rods, wiseco pistons and some king bearings. the block was put together and we tried to put at tdc and it was extremely hard to turn, he had to put a jack handle on the ratchet so he could get it spining.

do you guys know what could be wrong?

The mains are lubed right? Pull the pan and check the bearing clearances.

Yeah, yank the crank bearing caps and test the clearances with plasti-gauge. Not having spark plugs installed will usually help too because it can't build cylinder pressure while being turned.

the head is not bolted on, we even pulled it apart and tried the stock crank just to see if it was the crank, but we still had the same issue. i guess we're going to plasti-gauge it, its the only thing left to do.

Well, it rotates on bearings, and if it won't rotate, it's probably the bearings.

Are the rods for a ls, b20, or something else. Are the pistons for a 85mm bore?

Well it's obviously binding somewhere.

Did you you plastigauge before assembly? Did you torque the mains in the right sequence and to the correct torque spec?

no it was not platiguaged, and yes everything was torqued to the right specs and in the right sequence. (i guess we're going to platiguage)

Yeah probably should have done that in the first place.
