B18B1 stalling issue
1996 Honda Civic EX
OBD1 B18B1 swap Hoping someone can point me in the right direction on this one. After I swapped my engine, it runs great at idle but as I start to accelerate it stalls at 2100 rpms. Doesn't matter if it's in gear or neutral. I found that if I unplug the MAP sensor, it will idle at about 400-500 rpms and fluctuate slightly but I can rev it as fast as I want. Driving with the MAP unplugged, it's weak and feels bogged down and smells rich. No check engine light. I've swapped MAP sensors with a friend who has the same set up n his runs fine but it doesn't make mine run any better. This is my first swap and I don't know what to look for. If anyone has any advise, please let me know. I've double and triple checked timing. Swapped dizzys, throttle bodies, IAC valves, even the intake manifold. I'm sure I'm missing something simple but I'm lost at the moment. |
Re: B18B1 stalling issue
CEL? Are you using a jumper harness? What ECM?

Re: B18B1 stalling issue
Try swapping the ecm with your friend and see if that does anything for you.

Re: B18B1 stalling issue
No cel. P75 ecm and a jumper harness. I'm trying to find a reasonably priced ecm to try. My friend n I work opposite shifts in different states so it could be awhile before I can use his.

Re: B18B1 stalling issue
You should be able to find a P75 for about $25-50 unless the Honda crowd has really lost their mind in the last year or two...
