Default b16 vtec rarely works

tried cleaning vtec solenoid, nothing changed. checked wiring, seems fine. i think it might be restricted by the stock exaust but not sure. any ideas what the problem could be?

Vtec is not going to work sometimes and not work other times, its either one or the other. Have you checked the obvious things your oil, harness, soleniod its self for damage?

I doubt its your exhaust, if that was the case stock b16s would never go into vtec, so go ahead and rule that one out.

hmm im gonna most definitely go with check your oil vtec works off oil pressure so if there isnt enough it wont cross over and if it does it'll be late as hell and fall right back out.
