More than likely the clutch.. If the clutch is that bad it had to give you some warning like slipping ? No abnormal sounds when you let out of the clutch then its more than likely in gear, just there is no clutch disc left.. GL bro..

Default b16 hydo trans?

If your clutch isn't slipping, check the icav or the tps and make sure they're both good bro

If it was working until you pulled up to the stoplight, that makes things a little strange. Did it only do that once and then returned to normal, or did you have to get it towed away?

Not input shaft bearing. It will make noise if it's worn too much, but the shaft will still rotate if the bearing is bad. If the bearing is seized, the engine will stall because the shaft can't rotate. It could be the throwout bearing; given the symptoms the bearing would have to either be stuck (not sliding on the shaft) or has seperated into a few pieces.

Sounds like the clutch isn't engaging, or there is something wrong with the transmission. So could be throwout bearing, could be pressure plate failure, could be transmission failure.

Some of the other possibilities are already eliminated, because you have a failure to engage instead of a failure to disengage. So it's not a hydraulic system failure or a throwout fork failure, etc. A fluid leak or bad master/slave/whatever doesn't matter, because it only exerts pressure to disengage the clutch. Lose system pressure and the clutch engages again, which is the opposite behavior..

Did the axel break? I had this happen two different times with autozone axels.

Fabrik8 could this be a possible broken shift linkage or something similar? It crossed my mind randomly after I read your post.
