Default Amsoil vs. Red Line

Long story short, I ordered the wrong stuff.

Its a ka24de and I was going to use Red Line 75w-90 gl-4. Pretty much ordered gl-5, I'm dumb. I've read that gl-5 will eat up the internals in transmissions that don't call for it.

Now my car is sitting on jackstands, transmission is put back on and everything (changed clutch & flywheel) and I go to fill it up and it says gl-fucking5. I've got to be at work at 12 tomorrow, so I have time.

Atlantic Autowerks in Va. Beach (I'm in Hampton) is a Red Line dealer so I'm going to call them first thing in the morning to see if I can go pick some up. But there are a couple of Amsoil dealers closer to me. What are going to be the different characteristics of the 2 around the tidewater weather? (sluggish when its cold?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd stick with the factory tranny fluid. I switched my Oil an Diff fluids an the tranny is the only one i kept the factory recommended.

Just my opinion

If Amsoil fluid is listed being compatible with your fluid they'll warranty the part if it's the fluid's fault. That's why I use them, if you send them a sample of the fluid they'll test it and if the fluid broke down or wasn't to the right spec they'll pay for the repair.

Oh and Amsoil will legally pursue the warranty company if they blame the correct compatible fluid.
