Default alt light

my b series is having a problem when u start the car the alt. light stays on and is not charging the battery but when you rev the engine a lil bit the light goes out so i guess its charging my question is can my alt. be bad or is there something else that is being overlooked and when it idles back down the light comes on again.....the alt. that was on the car at first was doing this now i purchased a used one that worked and still the same results.....PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

the alt had been taken off and tested at advanced and they said it was still good for the alt. that was originally on the car....got a used one that came off a running car and and its doing the same thing....WTF???????

it can possibly be your alt. belt is too loose.

or your battery is toast. (maybe)


Do your headlights dim/get brighter while accelerating, or revving, at idle?

idk my car is at brauning and they are working on it and they say it could be the alt but they rev it up the light goes off and they have double checked everything and if u see the previous post i asked to close i had just had pod gauges done at a local shop and im not gonna mention which one but the gauges were wired to a constant power source and after i get my car back this is what i get...the issue with the gauges is fixed but now this is whats going on

Check all of your connections from the alternator to the battery and make sure they are not frayed causing you to loose power.

all the wires coming from the alt have been checked
