99-00 civic alternator interchange
i talked to a guy who has a mitsubishi alternator from a 99-00 civic (my civic is a 99 ex) he said i need to know which manufacurer mine is is this true? its a ex civic too from what i can see in the pic and has a d16y8 does the manufacturer matter or will they swap right out? thank you for any help!

Not sure what you mean by Mitsubishi alternator ? Do you mean the brand name of the alternator is Mitsubishi or it comes from a Mitsubishi because you also mention from a 99-00 civic.
Anyways just get a replacement alternator for your 99 civic. The alternator brands don;t matter much as long as its an direct replacement part for your car make , year and model. In reality your alternator ( the broke one or w.e) should look the same as the one you are planning to get and they need to have the same specs... just saying. Junk yards, advanced auto, auto zone, napa has it in stock. Even Amazon, ebay etc. You can probably pick on up for $50-$100
I recommend picking one up from ebay probably around $60.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/99-00-HONDA-...ht_1890wt_1163 i was looking to buy this one and it says mitsubishi mfr. does it matter the manufacturer as i have not taken mine off and do not know the mfr! i looked at my alternator still on car and cant see the mfr. and thanks for trying to help!

If it's a proper drop-in replacement, the manufacturer won't matter and everything will plug up just fine. Your EX harness will be the same as his EX harness, which means that the alternator connectors on that harness will be the same, which means that the alternators will have to be the same connectors.
