So my water pump was leaking and I bought the kit to replace that and timing belt also. So we did all the work and got to a point where we could start the car and check the timing. So it starts timing is perfect. Then we decided that since it ran hot on me that we are gonna do the thermostat. We add fluid and put the rest of the car back together. Go to start it up and leave and won’t start. It will crank but won’t fire. We look for spark with a screwdriver and there is no spark. So I go buy a brand new distributor put it on and same results. So then we change the crank position sensor same result. Go get a main relay cuz we have no power to the fuel pump don’t work. So we are so puzzled we just sit in the car to regroup my buddy starts playing with the shifter and all a sudden we hear the fuel pump and smell gas. Crank it and it starts right up. So we let it run get all the air out of the cooling system. I drive it around go to my parents and that’s where it sits. It will not start now even if I play with the shifter? Please anyone with some advise let me know.
