Default 98 accord vtec question

I have another accord question (possibly dumb). I dont really know anything about hondas but just bought a 98 accord ex. Its supposed to have vtec but I dont hear or feel shit. Am I supposed too? Could it be not working? What should I be looking for?

4-cylinder model I am guessing. I have a 98 sedan with the F23/5speed. Youre not really gonna hear/feel anything. It's there and it's also a family sedan.

Yeah, it is a four cylinder automatic. I have been in other hondas where you can hear and feel the vtec, so I didnt know if I should be able to also. The car drives great so I dont care. I just wanted to make sure everything was working like it should.

The oil was low. I changed it and put the oil at the right level and it works now. It is slightly noticeable. It doesnt break your neck or do anything amazing but I can tell when it kicks in. The rpms definetly climb quicker when its reved up now. Its a noticeable difference.
