97 civic will not start
I have a 97 honda civic coupe with a 99 gsr swap. Up until recently the car worked fine but the other day when I tried to start it nothing happened. The accesories wont even work. I tried jumping it and swapping out the battery as well. I also changed the battery terminals because they looked old and I checked the fuses and grounds and everything checked out good. Anyone know what can possibly be the problem? Everything I find is on cars that will crank but wont turn over. This has the symptoms of a dead battery but its not. I did lock the keys in the car and they were stuck in the ignition for a while. Would that have ruined something?

If you think you broke the igniton switch, then you should get one; if that's what you're trying to say. |

A simple Haynes book for a civic or integra will help you a lot if you don't know what you are doing.

Re: 97 civic will not start
did u check the relays while u were checking the fuses and grounds?

Re: 97 civic will not start
Also check fuse 15 and see if its blown there's a tsb on it
The wiring shorts out under the intake manifold this shouldn't Cause the car to not start but may be the reason the battery may not Be charging. Check the little ground wire on the starter too over time The connectors wear out and makes the wire pop out and will cause it To not start had that happen on 2 of my civic before |
Re: 97 civic will not start

Re: 97 civic will not start
Alright Frodo, all you need is to check a few fuses and check your ecu. If it was left in accessory mode it could have shorted something. Also, check grounds. If you actually need intelligent help, +rep me and pm me. Ill help ya out.
