97 civic,b16a2. Having trouble starting.

The problem i am having with my car is kind of hard to explain if your not here to see it,but i'll try to explain it as best as i can.

In the morning,or after i haven't driven the car for a few days i'll get in and turn the key and everything will be normal. The cel, srs, and battery lights will come on in the cluster just like they should, but the battery and srs will go off and the cel will stay on... sometimes it only takes a second for it to go off and then it will start fine, sometimes it takes 20 minutes or more. After waiting you can hear the fuel pump prime, then you can hear the main relay in the glovebox click and then the car is fine.I've already replaced the relay and i'm stuck with what the problem could be.The motor and car were obdII,but they were converted to obdI with a jumper harness, could this be causing the issue? If not what could be?

Cliff notes:
- Car wont start in mornings/after not driving
- Cel will stay on for varied amounts of time (1-20 minutes)
- Fuel pump will prime, main relay with click, cel will go off
- Car will start

Could be a loose connection in the adapter harness, could be lots of things. If you can find out what the CEL is when it's on, that would tell you a lot.

i need more info to be able to help . so does the engine crank when the engine light is on?
If yes. is the distributor sending spark? also check if there is injector pulse with a noid light. The possible causes are gonna be the main relay for the pgm-fi driver side of dash in the car or a bad ecm a harness problem don't act the way you describe I see you are in ronoake how cold is it when this happen? cam sensors also will fail in extreme cold.
