Default 94 honda accord torque converter question

doing a motor swap to my 94 honda accord lx automatic...sat the torque converter down the wrong way like a dumb ass and lost all the fluid out of it....was wondering how much fluid goes back into it...could find it on google or the hanes manual...and is it just regular tranny fluid???

As for any Honda ATF Z1 is the way to go if you can afford 6 bucks per quart. But most local shops i've worked for use Valvoline mul-tivehicle dextron III formula with good results. Book calls for Dextron II/III or Honda ATF

Just make sure on the back of the bottle it says that it complies with Honda ATFZ1 fluid.

Dont fill the converter up now, do it after you run the car. It will only make a mess now. Remember to check fluid with engine off/.

O yeah:
o 2.4 l (2.5 US qt.) at changing
o 6.0 l (6.3 US qt.) at overhaul
Put 3 - 4 quarts in after you install the trans and check it. assuming you are sure more then 1 came out of the converter

Wrong. Put some in the torque converter before you put it in the transmission. And, you check the fluid level with the car running, when it's up to operating temperature, after you "run it through the gears" (hold your foot on the brake, go from park, to reverse, to neutral, to drive, to neutral, to reverse, to park).

I strongly suggest you two do your research before making any claims.

99% of all cars with AT and a transmission pan are checked with running engine

Rest are Honda and transmission WITH NO OIL PAN and to get correct reading engine must be off to ensure fluid has drained down out of solenoids and other parts of the transmission. which is why its checked with engine off.

if you check with engine running it will show low, this will cause the operator to overfill the transmission and if overfilled high enough may pop out all the seals due to excessive pressure.

I didnt spend 3 years working for Honda for nothing.

Holy shit, could you be any more pussy hurt? I wasn't being a douche, and I even said I had never heard checking the fluid with the car off. And congrats working at Honda for three years, I'm sure you did a fine job sweeping the floors, faggot.

And, I neg rep'd you for doing it to me. It apparently bothers you. It's ok. Don't cry, just go drink some draino.
