this is my first 240 i have owned it will not start i can not here the fuel pump turn on or off .. its not getting fuel to the injectors it has been sitting for about 8 months .. its getting spark i put hot start in the intake and ran fine for about 10 seconds put a new fuel filter on it and tried turning it over still would not start .. so took the bottom line off fuel filter and cranked motor over and no gas came out line at all .. you guys think its the pump , relay, or both and yes i checked fuel pump fuse and it was blown .. it did have about half a tank of bad gas in it tho so line could be clogged as well :/ just trying to get some opinions........................... 5/5/13 - so I just replaced fuel pump and relay and car started and ran but still blowing fuel pump fuses :/ So should I look more In to the wiring ??? Or maby clogged injectors causing the fuel pump to be over worked ??? Lol this is my first 240 project so just trying to get ideas

same problem I had with my first one...

I had a rust inside the tank and it kept clogging the pump sock. so after going ahead and replacing the pump/sock/filter/tank assembly it ran great.

Measure the voltage at the pump. See if it's getting voltage when it should. If it is, look elsewhere. If it isn't, try the next link in the chain (the relay, fuse, etc.....). Don't try to track down fuel system issues until you're confident that the pump is actually working.

Definitely sound like the pump! And if youre going to replace it go ahead and pick up a walbro(cheaper than oem anyway) or something of that nature. I had a car sit and fuel pump go out just like youre describing and I replaced it with a Duralast or similar brand and it gave out in another 4 months!!! I will never make that mistake again!

Did you check those things, and if you did, what were the results? We can't help you much more without some feedback about what was already suggested.

It's pulling 12v and can hear the pump cut on and off ... Sorry about the lack if feed back

You have a short somewhere in the system. The only reason it should be blowing fuses. Check the wiring harness for any rub through areas. Most common spots are under the driver's front wheel and by the scissor jack in the back.

Yeah, sounds like a short. The injectors don't flow enough to cause load variations in the pump, no.
