Default 92 eg hatch check engine light problem

ok i have a 92 eg hatch and it has been wired up for obd2 dizzy and it has obd1 harness and it is throwing Code 9 No.1 cylinder position sensor my motor is obd1 it doesnt have a sensor near the crank pulley and some people said it could be my ecu im running a jdm p30 what could i do to fix it

It is a distributor issue, that is where the sensor is located.
I would recomend going back to a OBD1 dizzy(not a big deal) or***** atleast making sure the wiring is correct.***** If all of that is good it is most likey going to be a dizzy issue.
I would also recomend if it is a dizzy problem not to use an advance or auto zone brand, use a new or another OEM dizzy. I have seen to many problems out of the cheap ones.

If you need help with checking it just ask or im sure fabrik8 will post with all the checking you need to do. lol

Check the wiring for the distributor, and also check that there aren't any crimp pins that have been shoved out of the back of the ECU harness connector (that's rare, but I've seen it happen). Anytime I hear that someone has done any kind of swap that requires changing wiring, I always suspect the wiring. You would too if you've seen some of the wiring horror that people have done...

If all the wiring checks out, try a different distributor. They're usually pretty reliable but they can and do fail.
