91 CRX B16 Help
I have a 91 CRX Si with a B16. This thing just quit on me while driving and has not restarted since. I have tried the ignition module and ignition coil, both did not work. I have had the alternator, starter and battery tested, all check good on the test bench. The cap, rotor, plugs and wires have been changed within the last 3K miles or so. The engine turns over but does not start. The check engine light is not on, and was was not on before it shut down. I have also changed the fuel filter and verified that fuel is getting into the fuel rail. This was my daily driver until it quit running.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: 91 CRX B16 Help
Sounds like an ECU problem. The ECU has nothing to do with the engine cranking at all, you can physically remove the ECU from the car and the engine will still crank and crank and crank. So I'm guessing there's most likely a problem with your ECU or with the swap wiring, or something simple like a blown fuse. Does the CEL come on and then go off when you turn the key to the on position before trying to start the engine?

check that main relay, or they say you can do a self check by hearing it click once when u turn the key on , once when the cel goes off and once when you try to start the car , I would start there being as they are a very common problem on them.

I had a main relay issue on my old EF which did something similar. It drove one day then the next nothing, changed out the relay and was good again. I dont think I was able to even crank it if I recall correctly.

Thanks for all the help.
I have checked that the fuel pump works. Spark I'm not sure about. The CEL does come on then go out when I turn the key on. I found the ECU and it has a small clear window on the top. When I turn the key on, a red LED inside flashes. I just know thought to check/count the flashes to see it there is a specific pattern. I'll have to look at that again. I have not checked the timing, but the belt is not broken, missing teeth, or otherwise indicates that it has slipped or skipped teeth.
I'll have to try checking the relay also.
