91 Civic Upper Balljoint
I have searched and asked at both D-Series.org and Honda-tech but I cant get a straight answer..
There are 2 kinds of upper control arms for the EF. One that has the balljoint that bolts into place. and one that looks like it is welded. Of course mine is the latter.
This is how most look.
This is what mine looks like
The question is, how do you replace that balljoint? Every balljoint I have seen is threaded like in the first pic.

Re: 91 Civic Upper Balljoint
SO i got the ball joint out. But unfortunately it IS the welded in there.. I had to take out the whole upper control arm. I just ordered the replacement on ebay. $43 shipped... Not too shabby.
Thanks again for your help!

What year is that, a 88? I know those years are bitches for quite a few things.

Re: 91 Civic Upper Balljoint
It's a 91. It does not surprise me much. I always have the worst luck with cars. I don't know why I love them so much. haha. Maybe someone switched it out at one point. But it sure looked like it was the factory control arm. It looked like it had never been taken apart before. But it wasn't hard to loosen the bolts. So I don't know.
