88-91 civic trailing arm bushings
heres how i ended up changing my bushings
tools needed 1.chizle 2. hammer (the 5lb sledge is perfered) 3. asorted wrenches 4. propane torch 5. decent size rock 6. pliers 7. razor blade or hack saw blade 8. 2x4 9. vise step 1 remove trailing arm (it should only take 30 min for both sides) step 2 place trailing arm in vise step 3 take hammer and chizle and hit around outside edge of the bushing (do not damage metel ring if you have the energy trailing arm bushings) step 4 cut the metel bar out of the bushing (its best to just cut it at the strait peices that conect the bar to the outside of the bushing step 5 clean up rubber that is still stuck around the metel ring you can use the hammer and chizel to do that step 6 take bushing line it up with the hole for the bushing on the trailing arm (make sure bushing is squre to the hole place 2x4 against the bushing and put it in a vise and close the vise squeaing it in to the hole step 7 take bar that you cut out of the bushing place on rock turn on propane torch step 8 heat up rubber with torch wait about 10 min step 9 grab bar with pliers and scrape it along the rock rubber will fall off (repeat on other bar step 10 place bar in trailing arm making sure the small part if the bar is faceing out when placing it on the car step 11 take car to get an alinement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any questions feel free to contact me rob |
