Default 2001 Audi a4 help

cant seem to find this solution anywhere...

everytime i hit the brakes i hear a loud beep after i release. (same beep as when the gaslight comes on) also the "brake light" icon shows.


im not sure if its a wiring problem or what... its just starting to piss me off. need help

its not brake fluid. i believe its wiring tho. idk.

Does that car have brake wear sensors? I'd guess if it's doing it when you release it's either measuring brake pressure or pad wear. Could be an ABS issue also, but that should trigger a slightly different fault I'd imagine. I don't know much about Audi stuff.

It should, and thats most likely his problem. The reason is one of a few things.

1. Brake pad sensors are telling you to change your brakes
2. wear sensors are malfunctioning (very unlikely)
3. brake fluid is JUST low enough that when the pedal is fully depressed the fluid goes down just enough to trigger the sensor in the fluid reservoir.
4. you have a possible electrical short somewhere, and when you hit the pedal it causes that reaction.

its not ABS related because there is a seperate light for those issues I believe...

The funny thing is we could narrow it down a lot if he just told us which light it was. Audis have a couple of different brake warning lights.

yeah but that would require OP to have common sense,

if OP had common sense then he would have figured this out and never created this thread...
