Default 1g dsm starting problems

edit - posted nothing >_>

ok, when i start my car up on a cold day, it takes 8-20 tries to start up depending on how cold it is. every time i start it up, it makes all the noises like its gonna start up in 1 shot but it never does and when its about to turn over, it quickly does and stalls out again. once it is started, it idles at 5-600 rpms for a good 5 minutes driving or not. also, if i go over 4-5k rpms and quickly put in the clutch, my tach will drop to zero and i'll stall out. just wanted an opinion on this before i drive shop to shop.

Mine use to do that so I turned up the idle to a 1000 haha. It's ghetto but it's ok.. but I think it might be your ISC.

It could be the ISC, but there are so many other things that could cause this. Typically if your isc is failing, you will get 'idle surge' and the car will raise and drop rpms. You didn't say anything to indicate this, so I would start looking elsewhere.

Start simple and then work your way to the bigger stuff.. Vacuum leaks, missing/damaged vacuum lines, Incorrect idle setting.. Incorrect fuel pressure (i.e, failing pump, clogged injectors, bad FPR), failing/incorrectly adjusted TPS, the list goes on and on..
If you have the FSM, then start pouring over the troubleshooting paragraphs, 11-5, 14-7 & 25-3. If you don't, then get one.

sounds fuel related, start with a volume test. disconnect fuel line and crank engine for 10 seconds. I think it sould fill a 16oz bottle in 10 sec. (any mitsu techs feel free to correct me if i'm wrong) That will at least tell you if it is a fuel delivery problem or not (common among 1g's). good luck
