Default 1g DSM questions

Hey DSM guys need some help real fast, I would just IM dave and bother him like usual but hes away. I found a 1G GSX here in Fredericksburg for sale for $2500. Its blue with off center double stripes in case anyone knows it. I just saw it at 7-11 and didnt have much time to really look at it but the guy says it has a JDM swap with 40k miles on it, by JDM swap I assume he means its a EVO III motor or the like. Is there anyway to tell for sure its a authentic JDM motor? Also what should I be looking for when I go look at it? All I could really see was a apexi boost controller and some sort of turbo timer I believe and what looked like a 16g turbo. Thanks guys.

Default Re: 1g DSM questions

honestly man the only difference between the "JDM" engine and the USA engine is the intake manifold and valve cover. The JDM engine will say CYCLONE on the intake manifold and its pretty useless unless they installed the japanese wiring harness and ecu which controlls the butterflys in the manifold. JDM engines usually have 39k miles or less on them. the valve cover should say mitsubishi on it and it should be red. sometimes they will have 510-550cc injectors and a 16g.
