1990 22R Carb Replacement
I'm considering replacing my stock AISIN Toyota carb that is on my truck with a Weber 32/36. I can get a great deal on the carb and my stocker needs to be rebuilt (probably rebuild kit and float).
With this said - I'll be eliminating a lot of the vacuum lines and emissions. Will this cause an issue when I get it VA safety inspected?
I do not plan on removing the CAT or even adding a header for now. Just the Weber carb.
Thanks..

Re: 1990 22R Carb Replacement
Those still had carbs in 1990? Amazing.
If it came with a carb, and you're putting a different carb on it, I don't think there will be a problem. I doubt most inspectors know what came on that car from the factory, and probably even less of them care. You're never going to have the emissions levels of a fuel injected car anyway, so I don't see why it would matter.

Most inspection places don't look under the hood... But gettin it off the ground to check brakes, etc., they may see your exhaust... I'd punch out the cat and slide in a piece of pipe then get it rewelded back in place...
