Default 1986 crx

I may get a crx. I was looking to see what all I can do with it. I am not new to the game but new to this old of a honda. So what all can be done with out going into a lot of money? Motor swaps or anything like that will help me decide what to do with it if I do get it. thanks
Adam

All out project/race car:
RWD, cage and paint it. invest in a helmet, perhaps a kevlar re-enforced seat to protect against crash fatalities, and a list of organ donors.

Moderate project (auto-x, etc):
motor swap, wheels, shifter/knob upgrades, upgrade the tiny ass speakers in it, tint, etc...the normal shit

Daily
Plates, gas, and insurance, still get a helmet.

There aren't really the available performance and engine swap options for that '86 like there are for the 89-91 models. Most of the same stuff can be done, it's just not as cheap or easy and you can't quite do the same catalog shopping as you could for the 89-91.

Id get the s13. The 3g civics are limited to alot. hasport has b swap mounts now for hydro and cable trans, the engine bay is small-small. I never looked into the harness conversion for a 3g.
check out redpepperracing.com good information, build threads and such if your just dead set on the civic.
think 3gcivic.org or something used to be a forum dont think its up anymore. most those guys were on rpr

Its as fabrick8 stated its not as cheap or easy as a 89-91 civic.
parts stop being made for 3g's couple years back from dealerships, etc, etc...

For how light that car is, you should drop in a Fit engine and use a cheap aftermarket ECU like a MegaSquirt/MicroSquirt. I don't think there are any swap kits for that, but it would be a good project if you want to be ambitious.

I may just do the 240sx just for the fun of it. Its going to be used as a toy. I will still go and test out the crx but I am thinking hard. If I do get the 240 how hard will it be to swap in a 5sp trans? Idont think it sould be to hard but I have never done one.
