Older cars... can i still use carfax? 13 digit vin?
im trying to do some research on a car about 35 years old and noticed the vin was four numbers short of the usual 17. this is the actual vin number from the title and several other documents. anyone know how to do research on a car of this age? carfax keeps denying the vin because it isnt 17 characters.
ask for copies of receipts, if you're serious about buying it, spend $50 and have a mechanic put it on a lift and give it a good look over. other than that I don't know what you can do with older cars, we were going to buy one but ran out of cash before we got around to it
well we flew an appraiser to colorado to give the car a full inspection and already purchased it, but we're trying to get some information on the original owner. it's not really a question of whether or not the car's in good shape. it's more of a wondering the car's past kind of thing.
anyone know?
and i'll have some pics of the car up soon. all original 69 camaro z28

lol never gonna happen
i definitely did not pay for this car. it's my dad's... and the right price would probably buy you an E46 M3 if that gives you a clue what kind of work was put into getting this car. it stays in the garage under a cover, right next to a space heater while mom's '03 330Ci vert stays outside haha

a lady we're good friends with has an original 67 her husband takes out every couple months to ride around in. we actually kind of hired her to find one for us so im really not sure where exactly the car was pinpointed from. its a really pretty car though i think quite a few people on here are gonna dig it a lot. it's a dark, almost hunter, green with white racing stripes. my dad's been looking for this car so long he chose his company colors to be dark green and white back in 1985 so he's pretty stoked about having it. his 04 f-350 is painted the same color scheme except it is 2/3 green 1/3 white instead of the racing stripes and he got it way before finding this camaro. next time i get out to the farm in the daylight i'll snap some pics.
had to get it from colorado? seems like 1st gen camaros are everywhere. Great cars though. As far as the history, carfax won't do it for ya. I know the mopar guys keep a registry of the cars...maybe there is a similar one?
