i have a boosted hatch with 450cc injectors. every now and then when i try to turn on my car the fuel pump doesnt come on so the car will just crank. so we have to put the key in and out waiting for the fuel pump to come on, and we know it comes on when my AVCR screen comes on. whats going on? has the fuel pump gone bad?

 

you should be able to just hear the fuel pump

 

thats a common problem with the 450s

 

victum- thats what im going on too. sometimes i hear it come on and thats when i can start the car fine. but sometimes it just doesnt come on.

mateo- i've heard about starting problems with bigger injectors. please explain.

sounds like the main relay is going south to me.

 

yes main relay it is. i found out that when cars start getting that old the main relay starts going bad. thnks everyone.
