DOHC turbo vs SOHC turbo ? which is better
first off i searched and didnt find anything on here so i decided to start a thread.... ok well i was wondering which would be best .. i have seen many boosted SOHC cars that put down some pretty decent numbers and the same with DOHC ,,but almost every turbo car i have seen at the track or anything where running worst times than me ..i beat a boosted ls on 12psi and i saw another boosted ls with slicks only run 13.6.. well what im trying to say is i have seen many turboed cars run shitty times but if both are built right and tuned and everything which would be better and why ? i know single cams can hold more boost safely and everything but is that why people use them so often or is it just the money issue.. i started this thread because im debating on boosting my b16 or just swapping out for a single cam a boost the hell out of that well any ways i would like to here what you all have to say and your opinions on the two
thanks

Why not build your B16 the same way you'd have to build a single cam? You'd have to do the same stuff to both for lots of boost, and the B16 bottom end and tranny will be a lot stronger than a single cam engine.. You've got a better starting point with the B16, so why not use it?
hondas sohc is just 2 camshafts driven by 1 cam gear. So its still 16 valve. But dohc with 2 cam driven by 2 cam gears give you more adjustabitly. Also how does the valve size compare.

I mean, I don't speak boosted2003ish, but I'm pretty sure single means one. As in, like, less than two.
