Default Opinions on the Capital Grille in DC?

I'm considering stekhouses to go to for my birthday tomorrow night, and I am wondering if anyone on here has been there and can give me a review. I know they rank well in Zagat Survey, but I want some real world experiences.

Please do not offer any suggestions of other restaurants. I know which ones I'm looking at. Thanks in advance.

I went there last summer, and really enjoyed it. I had their steak au poivre which really was delicious, they served it was a cogniac sauce actually, which was different. For an appetizer we had the lobster and crab crakes which were awesome, and my date had a sirloin steak. P.S. their creme brulee was the best I've ever had

The atmosphere is nice, very relaxing. It would be a nice place for a birthday if you're going for something nice and chill. It's $$$$$ though.

Oh shit! It's your 21st bday? Congrats.
I would tell you to throw a party this weekend, but I'll be in 757 for Memorial Day parties.

Ruth Cris all the way, however I have never eaten at the Capital Grille, sounds like its getting a few good reviews.

I've been to Ruth Chris before, so I know it's good. I'm looking to try to try something else.

Thanks!

I would throw a party, but I am leaving saturday morning for Florida for a vacation, then probably leaving as soon as I get back to do some field training for my new job, so a party is going to have to wait.
