there really isn't anything else worth doing that you could do, any other motor mods are going to be expensive and require rejetting and tuning... depending on what the previous owner didn't change recently, i'd consentrate on some good maintainance, that will make it perform alot better, new air filter, new spark plugs, fuel filter if it has one, tires, chain and sprockets(if you want more "power" you could go up some teeth on the rear sprocket, it doesn't actually give you power, but its the cheapest way to make it faster by lowering the gearing), oil change, valve adjustment, carb cleaning, etc., new fork seals and some good fork oil, and set up the suspension for your weight

but as far as motor mods i think there isnt' anything left that would be worth your money

This won't change your HP; but why not change out your sprockets? -1 up front or +3 in the rear; or both!!!!!!! It really affects your TQ.

I changed my front and I love the difference!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that might screw a new rider up. It maight make the bike really touchy or more jerky for their liking

Actually; that's what I expected before I changed mine; but that's not the case.

My bike is still smooth, it's just that when I wring it's neck the front end comes up where it didn't before. Now if you're already on a bike that is prone to wheelieing and you have a problem keeping the front end down already then I wouldn't touch the gearing. But if you're fine go ahead and change out your front.

You can change the front without changing your chain. It is however recommended to change your chain and sprockets at the same time.......

Thanks guys. Im not sure if im ready for a difference in tq just yet. I will however start working on the maintainance. Im not ready to pop or semi pop any wheelie. Althought the first time i opened the bike up and wasnt leaning forward enough, its seemed like it would have done a wheelie, but im just not ready for it. I must say, i love riding, its right on par with getting laid.

Well, if you want to know what you can do then here you go...
-Cams
-New cam gears (they have adjustable ones for bikes as well...)
-Ignition advancer (different weights)
-New Pistons
-Headwork
-etc...
-etc...

Almost anything that you do for a car can be done for a bike. If I were you I would get the different weights for the ignition advancer and then if you want to go further get some cams. If you are serious about riding/racing these are not "too far" I've been around many people that have done the things listed above and more and the argument that you have to do a lot of rejetting... That's bull! Since when has any good performance mod been done that you didn't need to retune your vehicle be it a car, bike, ATV, or moped!!! If you are one of the people that thinks that retuning is combersome then I would really suggest that you just stay where you're at. Or, do the best thing, BUY A BIGGER BIKE! If you just can't seem to squeeze that little bit of extra horsepower out of the R6 and don't want to retune a lot get a bigger bike. Either way hope these options help you out a little bit.

Later,

Sean C.

P.S. I have a way of sounding demeaning and please don't take this reply as one of those comments. This is purely for information. Later.

yea but all of that is definetly not worth it in the least... your talking several thousands of dollars to kill the bike's rideablility for the sake of 5 horsepower that you will only see at redline... unless your a professional racer and the mods are being paid for by your sponsors, or your rich as hell and have a brand new gsx-r 1000 and have run out of things to spend your money on it is a total waste... because you don't need more power out of a bike if you can't use what you have 100%, and if you can then instead of modding that bike then you can just move up to a newer/bigger bike and not only make more peak HP, you will also make more hp from idle to redline as well as more torque and do so with factory longevity, and if you've moved up to the biggest baddest bike and still need more then you should be getting paid to ride

anything more than a pipe/jet kit and sprockets is redundant, your money would be better spent on good gear, track days, suspension tuning, maintaince, gas, insurance, saving up for your next bike or a track bike, a trailer, etc. etc... even in drag racing power isnt nearly as important as practice and suspension, you could take two identical bikes, put a turbo kit and nitrous on one, fully build the motor to the limit, and leave the other one bone stock except for a 25$ lowering link for the rear and a 15$ lowering strap on the front, and i guarentee you the near 400hp turbo bike will get raped every single time by the stock bike w/ equal riders
