Driving School?
I know I'm opening up the gate on this one but iI'll ask anyways....
Does anyone know of a school that will teach individuals to drive manual transmissions? I'm not even talkin aggressive driving or anything...
I've got a friend tryin to buy a new Acura TL.... yea.. he's never driven stick and believed he could easily since he 'understood the concepts'. Sure enough.. never made it out of the parking lot of the dealership as the dealer pretty much said hell no. He'd really like to learn so I was teachin him, but after his first lesson i have decided to discontinue rather than risk damage to my tranny (he REALLY can't drive stick). What alternatives exist?
ONCE AGAIN -- THIS IS NOT ME. I was forutnate enough to learn on a pickup truck growin up.

I think he wants a manuel b/ it's six speed, and it would soooo much cooler to have 6 gears
Wow, It really isn't that hard. I feel sorry for your friend. If he is gonna pay 35 for a car he should buy a beater for cheap and learn on it. He is not gonna wanna fuck up his clutch or tranny in the new. Maybe he just has horrible cordination. I only stalled twice while learning, and then the ocasional fuck up.
find someone with a manual tranny car that they just don't give a shit about. preferrably a car that's on it's last legs anyways, so that grenading the transmission won't be a tearjerker.
if your friend has enough loot to buy a TL, he should spend a couple hundred bucks to get a piece of shit manual beater car to practice driving with first.
and if he still sucks at it, he might as well just go automatic.
