any turbo dodge guys in the area?
looking for some fellow turbo dodge guys in the area. 2.2 and 2.5 turbo fwd dodge and chrysler products of the late 80s early 90s. i just picked up a 85 dodge omni glh with a few goodies on it. any one in the area????? heres a pic if anyone cares.
I haven't driven one but remember hearing that stock they will run mid 15's with minor mods break into the low 14's and there are a few sub-12second ones out there.
As for $$$ you can probably buy a rolling chassis for sub 300 (I saw 3 on ebay for $100) and a motor for one can be had for $1324 (new rebuilt old stock) so for 1424 you can have a dodge omni with a new motor. Say we throw in some performance goodies...
Super 60 Turbo upgrade (new) $220 Shipped
Camshaft (S60 package) approx $150 shipped
Walboro 255lph fuel pump $125
Bigger injectors $60-80 a piece...
so for like 2500 you can have a low 13 second car, not bad but who wants to drive an omni? For a little more plus some custom work (gutting interior) you can break into the 12's
Oh yeah and I looked all this stuff up while at work I was kinda bored.

GodsOther, you can go a WHOLE lot faster for a whole lot cheaper
The S60 Upgrade really isnt worth it all that much. The best thing about turbo dodge's is is that alot of people make their own parts, all you need is more boost, an ECU, and exhaust and you can be in the low 13s easily. Breaking into the 12s is nothing more than a few other tricks from there. And all of this is on street tires. I wish i had the money to buy another car right now, because it would be a turbo dodge.

There is a Brown Omni running around the Yorktown/Hampton area that Has to be running 12's or faster. He passed me Last fall going down Magruder and all I heard was a BOV. To be honest he pulled on me from a 45mph roll of course when it comes to driving a car I suck.
i had an 84 daytona with a 2.5l swap, fuel, t3/t4, fmic, and a few other things...it got rearended when i was breaking in the clutch. found the guy who bought the engine and dynoed 276 fwhp and ran a mid/low 13 sec quarter slipping clutch and no traction...pissed...i know some sites...ill just have to dig them up from my old computer...
