The car has developed the notorious blacktop VTC tick, google it, its a very very common problem with sr20 blacktops. the problem can be fixed 3 ways
1. Replace VTC sprocket with a factory one ( new/used) but no telling how long before it will happen again.
2. Replace with Sr20 REDTOP cams, would be the cheapest option.
3. Upgrade to aftermarket cams, which will result in more power.
The car still drives perfectly and i still daily drive it 75 miles a days to/from work. Youtube/Google search SR20DET BLACKTOP VTC RATTLE. I AM ASKING $5,000 OBO

I am very interested in this. Do you have all the paperwork from the big swap? Has anyone tuned or looked at the engine already? How's compression?

 

No paperwork from swap, previous owner did everything.
Car is tuned for 10# on Enthalpy
Have not had chance to do compression test, working 70 hours a week and occasional work related traveling has my time tied up.

 

If ti didn't have a moulded kit it'd be in my driveway.. Does it have a 6 speed or 5 speed?

 

5 spd....for this price you couldnt live with a molded kit?
