Default oil?

What brand and weight oil does everyone use? I know some people are very brand-oriented, while others go for whats on sale. Was just curious who uses what.

I use Mobil 1 Synthetic 5w30 atm in my wrx.

I'm about to put the Mobil 1 SuperSyn in my WRX (5w30) I'm guessing it's the same as yours.

I noticed more engine noise since switching from dino to syn, Did you? Some people on nasioc did too, said its just part of the switch, and others said they were crazy.

Yes, I did too. Of course, these days the WRX's "external temperature sensor" gets annoying. All kinds of noise when cold started.....

haha, my car sounds like its going to over rev everytime i start it in cold, especially when its been sitting for a while.

ive noticed a few ticks though...like it takes longer for the rev's to drop to idle(~730rpms) when you leave it alone vs driving it around.

also, when you leave it idling for it to warm up (about 1 min), if you put the car in gear and then take it back out, the revs will drop another 200rpms.

everytime i get a fresh oil change the engine noise reduces significantly. but after another 100miles its back to the normal engine noise.

I'm running 5w30 Mobil1 right now because it's cold. I might switch to 10w30 in the summer. All SRT's seem to click when there cold then once they warm up the clicking goes away. Plus the transmission shifts like a pig when it's cold, nothing like crunching through gears. Got to love mopar ATF in a manual transmission
