hey guys i'm looking for a place to buy a small (24inch x 24inch) sheet of aluminium 3/64 or 1/8 thick. thanx for any help.

 

lowes/home depot...in the metal section...usuaully one aisle over from hardware

 

havent been able to find aluminum at lowes or hd. its all galvinized (sp).....

 

There has to be at least a few metal supply places in the VB area.... Checked the yellow pages?

 

There's a company in the Cavalier industrial park, BMG Metal across the street from the CAT dealer. Take I-64 to Military Hwy ( exit 297) go straight though the light, the 711 will be on your left , once you cross Military HWY you will be on Cavalier BLVD, go down and make the last right before the railroad tracks onto Business Center DR. go down till you see the CAT dealer and it's across the street. Tell them what you are looking for and ask to look in the "cut off" pile. The "cut off" pile are left over pieces of all different sizes and thickness. ...bring cash. I was just in there buying some last week.

You may also try Fastenal, last time I was in there they had a decent selection of various metals
