Reverse lights wont come on and car wont shut off in reverse.

Reverse lights wont come on and car wont shut off in reverse.
i have a 90 EF. The reverse lights wont come on the bulbs are good, and when the car is in reverse it wont shut off. Maybe these two problems are related. If anyone has an idea or has had this problem before please let me know.
