'96 Saab 900s N/A Silver 4dr 5sp $2000
SOLD!
Name: Donald
Location: Richmond (downtown)
Contact: PM or call (804 832 7167)
Trades: None, just sale
Price: 1700 firm
Description: 198k miles. Black Leather, Heated Seats. Power windows, power locks. 2.3 Liter Non-Turbo (known reliability). Don't let the miles scare you. Vehicle is ready to go.
History: Purchased the car late 2007 with 160K miles and a bad clutch (someone puchased the car, burnt it up, and took it back). Replaced the clutch and front pads and drove it.
At 170K the following was done:
-Head Gasket including headbolts (never overheated, just to fix a persistant oil drip)
-Main Crank Seal (another drip)
-Valve Cover Gasket
-Newer '98 Steering Rack (older one leaked terrible)
-Front Struts (Bilsteins)
-Strut Mounts
-New Lower Control Arms (ball joint included)
-Rear Brakes (pads, rotors, and pins)
-OEM Spoiler Installed
-Premium Carpet Floor Mats
-Used 16" Saab 9-5 Wheels w/ New General Exclaims from Tire Rack (one rim has a small spoke crack that doesn't effect it holding air; rotated every 5K since with plenty of life left)
-Front End Alignment
3/09
-Tune-up: Plugs (NGK), Wires, Cap, Rotor bug -K&N Style drop-in Air Filter
Recent work (12/09):
-Flex Pipe was replaced with straight pipe (notorious problem for leaking gone for good)
-Header Flex Pipe wrapped with header wrap to prevent future leaks (was fine prior but didn't want to take chances)
-Broken Power antenna replaced with manual mast
-Double-stacked Rear Swaybar (two OEM sways stacked together)
-Inspected (good till 1/11)
Car currently has about 197.5K miles, is still being driven, and it roughly problem free. Known issues:
-Small water leak in trunk (typical of 900's and 9-3's)
-Oil Pressure light (happened right after the head gasket was replaced; pressure check was done and all is fine, never troubleshooted the light and/or sensor)
-Check Engine Light (O2 Sensor related)
-Strut Mounts (NEVER buy OEM 'equivalent'; after 20K miles these are in worse shape than the originals; not a pressing issue but something to note; originals included)
-Factory Head Unit was gone (aftermarket Sony stereo slid in its place w/ electrical tape covering the void)
-Few Door Dings from Commuter Lots
-Slightly Sagging Headliner
Has been well maintained in my ownership. I have receipts for most of the non-Ebay parts purchased that will go with the vehicle. Very clean and ready for more years of service. Most of the miles accrued were highway commuting to school.
Oil changed more than regularly (Mobil High Mileage).
Averages 28-30 mpg. Large gas tank good for 400-450 mile range.
Best in-class trunk space for the year.
Leather in good shape (minimal driver seat wear).
Came into another Saab, clear title in hand, price is firm. 804 832-7167(Donald) or reply w/ questions.
