Well in my search for buy a 240sx, I had a thought, I've seen swaps where people have put in the RB26DETT motor in, and I'm wanting to do the same but the 240sx I'm looking for is a 89-93 which I can't then use the transmission that would normally come from the Skyline GTR, so I guess my question would be what transmission would be best suited for an RB26 swap into an 89-93 240sx?

Alright lemme rephrase that, I remember reading somewhere that you couldn't use the AWD transmission that would normally come with the RB26 when you swap the motor into an S13 type 240sx. I was wondering what transmission you should use for a swap into something like a 1991 240sx hatchback when using an RB26DETT?

do a lottt of research and you better have a nice amount of cash if you want to do this swap..

 

It's just an idea I'm playing around with, I want to do a swap but I'm not completely sure on which I'd rather do. I'm really tempted to go down the SR route as it's cheaper and with, I think, more parts available since it's a more popular swap.

iv done both sr and rb swaps into s13's stick with sr not stupid mount converstions and chopping up wire harness is let me make it simple
sr20- took about 2 hours to swap
rb- took a day because of parts
