Default Fastest New Car for <$40k

So my dad is looking for a new car for less than $40k and is looking at the 2010 Camaro SS

What is your opinion on the fastest 0-60/1/4 mile car on the market?

ps '10 Camaro SS = 0-60 in 4.6 sec

and 2010 STI 0-60 in 4.7 sec

that way there is not a million "which car is fast"threads all over forums....
