Default testing a fuel accumulator?

Is there a way I can test a fuel accumulator rather than throwing $120 at an educated guess?

You know it. K-jetronic minus all electrical correction (what little there ever was).

I've never touched that before, I figured that's what you had in there though. I'm no help.

Just for my curiosity though, what's the problem you're having?

Hot starts require a lot of cranking, the longer it was left (but still hot) the longer I need to crank. If I just shut it off it starts fine.
On a cold start it will start and run for a second or 2 (I'm guessing because of the cold start valve) then shut off, and I'll have to crank it for a while to get it started.

Both of these long cranks can be shortened if I turn the ignition on like 10 times (it runs the fuel pump for 2 seconds each time you hit the ignition) so I'm losing fuel pressure somehow.
