Default help for shipping rims and tires

hey guys,
I may be putting this on a wrong forum but I didn't find any other subforum to talk about this.

I need to send 17" rims wrapped w/ tires from VA to CA and, since Ive never done this before, I would like to ask you experts for the method of shipping and cost as well.

What would be the best and of course cheap way to ship this to CA? Ive heard that some poeple use greyhound. How does this work out? I went to their website and there was nothing about shipping a package or something similar. Do I simply go to the station and ask them?

Im trying to get all four shipped out for around 150. Is this too low?

Any help is appreciated!!

$150 sounds reasonable. Greyhound is a fucking trash company that doesn't give a shit. (higher chance to get it damaged) I'd go with UPS or Fedex. I've shipped/received more than 80 sets of wheels, wheels/tires. Never had issues with neither companies.

Fedex is who I've always used, they are always cheaper than UPS and I tried DHL one time and got raped.

I just recently shipped a set of 17's with tires to Washington state from VA. I used UPS (should have used FedEX). It cost $200, but I had them picked up from my shop and probably would have been cheaper if I took them to UPS. I wrapped each wheel individually with "pallet wrap", then put a piece of cardboard on the face of the rim after I wrapped it, and wrapped it again.

Tips:
ship it to a business
depending on wheel design, put face out, tape two wheels back to back, slap shipping label on tread and tape over it
cut a piece of cardboard out to cover all wheel faces, put another piece between wheels
put paper under tape so it doesn't leave sticky shit on rim, let it stick to tire
Fedex

We shipped 17s to Washington earlier this year through USPS. Was about $160 including insurance. Don't bother boxing them....unless you have boxes. We just cut some circles out of cardboard to protect the rim and taped the shit out of it.
