Description: selling my 1988 MR2 Supercharged. i bought the car off mr2oc about a year ago. It has no power options and cloth seats. i am trying to sell to buy another car that is for sale. however, if this car sells before mine does, i will remove this for sale ad.
Engine: 4AGZE
new head gasket, water pump, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, cam seals, rear main seal
open air filter in trunk
smaller SC pulley and all mods related to raising stock boost done
what appears to be a fairly rare HKS exhaust (actually meant for the SC model)
about 120-140k on it
supercharger oil looks good.
*when i bought it, it was leaking oil all over the place. ended up being the head gasket, after i had everything else replaced. doesn't leak or burn any oil now.
Exterior:
the paint sucks, but it has no rust in the arches, no rust on the frame rails, etc. the ONLY spot of rust is a little part right near the exhaust tips
no shimmies at any speed
a couple dings
Interior:
dash is NOT CRACKED
seats are NOT TORN
in general, the interior is in very good shape. steering wheel is rough and a couple small plastic pieces are broken, but overall, no tears or cracks and no odd wear marks
small small small bit of surface rust under the master cylinder
general good:
no e-brake cables
newish battery
new speedo gear
comes with BGB
the bad:
ac doesn't work, but it was always crap on these cars....i would pull it out.
mileage is unknown. i bought it with the speedo gear already broken. the guy before me said it had 115k on his title, i reported what the odometer said...114k. this will probably pop up on carfax. if not....i am telling you now.
2-3 shift can grind if you are dogging the hell out of it. this is fairly common...i searched on mr2oc
probably needs new passenger side axle or a rebuild on the current one.
probably will need new front rotors before too long (if you overtighten the lugs, they warp, and i am sure my wife's brother tighten the shit out of them when he had it)
guy i bought it from...his pictures:
