nissan pickup ka24e won't start

I have a 97 nissan pickup with an ka24e in it. It cranks and the fuel pump kicks on but wont start. Any comments?

The motor needs 3 major things to run: compression, fuel, and spark. Make sure the fuel is getting to the motor, check the compression, check for spark. If they are all there, check the timing.
