Best place for header coating in Hampton Roads?
This has been covered before
It's out of the 757 but Thermotech in Hopewell.
They did Ramey Builts turbo housing and several street car turbo housings(although some baked off.. but they were used housings dunno if that matters)
They also did a header for a all motor setup I had.
They also did the headers on my fathers Nova. Have held up fine with street and track driving.

Thermal tech did my Kooks headers with their 2000 degree black stuff... it failed after a few HPDEs. Rich's (DoingOK) headers look like crap as do Tim's (w/ the LSX Miata - since been sold) and Tim recommended them. They told me they'd redo them for free, but I never wanted to pull them. I sold them a month ago.
We also had them do the sidepipes on the Panoz simply because of their proximity to PAS... I sure as hell hope they hold up better on the race car and that my experience with my Corvette headers was a fluke.
I think this go around I'm going to have the headers shipped to Jet-Hot for their nTechnology 1700 degree extreme sterling. I spoke w/ the rep today and he said w/ the new coating the 1700 is just as shiney as the 1300 degree. Formerly the 1300 looked like chrome and the 1700 suff was like dull aluminum.

thermal tech did my personal turbo housing on 2 different turbos and i never had a problem with anything flaking off or discolored....
I hope the Panoz's sidepipes hold up
Maybe Rich, Tim, and I got a bad batch... didn't flake off, but it got very thin, marred very easily when hit with a tool, and over time I could see thousands of little "pinholes" where I could see the stainless steel showing through.

No.... my primary photobucket was hacked and deleted. However I do have this picture from the original install. You can see how marred they got just from touching stuff.
i had precision powder coat do a set of manifolds for a caddy motor....they look like chrome ...i havent started the car yet so i cant say as far as holding up....supposed to be 1500 degree ...ceramic coated
They ruined my old CCW classics and are a joke of an operation... I will never do business with them. VA Speed has used them on some of their headers and I wansn't impressed with the "chrome" coating on the headers on display ther other day when I was getting a part for the Panoz.
HPC. They're not in Hampton Roads, but I don't know of any top shelf ceramic coating companies that are. Ship them off and get it done, you'll get better results than a non-specialist local place.
Fuck shiny headers, get a coating that works instead of a coating that looks like chrome.
I thought you played with racecars?
