Default Newbie

Whats up everyone, I learned about this site through an online search. I drive a 2003 v6 mustang procharged/intercooled. I took the car to the motormile dragway last night with the new motor and ran a 8.6 at 83mph. The car has much more in it with a racetune I'm working on with 110oct and methanol injection with more boost. I made 3 good passes and then my a/f started to lean out on me, found out it was my throttle position sensor was broke. I look foward to meeting some locals on line for cruises and track meets.

Hey,

That's a pretty cool setup it sounds like, nice to see something different!

Do you have stock headers/exhaust?

Stock headers, exhaust is a custom 2.5 dual all the way back with gutted converters.I plan to swap pulley soon for 11psi and maybe a cam next year.

Do many people see gains with commercially available headers on the v6?

I have a friend who used to have a supercharged 4.6l cobra and he said long tube headers w/exhaust gained 40+ whp

Yes gains are to be had with lt headers. They are good for about 10rwhp on a stock v6 and 15rwtq. About the same with my setup. They would really help in the 400hp range. I made 300/308 with 9psi and only 16* timing on pump gas. I can take it up to 18 or 19* with 93oct. I had it tuned remotelly thats why the numbers are low. It's got around 325 in it the way it sits with more aggressive timing curve. I'm going to swap pulleys and hook up my meth injection and torco in the tank for a retune. My goal is to hit 375rwhp, for a racing tune. Street tune will stay with the conserative tune thats on it now. My goal is a 7.999 at the track.
