i am wondering how many psiwould be safe on a stock b16....how many psi before the map sensor will kick

 

Untuned you probably won't want to run much over 3-4 pounds. I mean you technically can probably run around 7 or 8, but you will be running rich as hell and you wont get the power you could be with that kind of boost.

 

17 or 18.

I think you could do 7psi safely... why not just get crome?

 

its all in the tune 10-12psi is pretty safe tho.

 

You can't go over 10 Psi on a stock map sensor.

If you aren't upgrading fuel or anything, do not go over 7.

Better yet....

Don't boost it unless you are ready. It'll be more headaches than its worth.

 

you cant really say one psi or another, it depends on the turbo you use...cfm ya know? if your running the common .57 trim t3/t4 or smaller than yeah 8 psi would be alright some kinda tune but no tune is no good. honda maps (civics) are good past 10psi, dont use a missing link, those are gay.

 

its said a stock motor will take about 7-8 pounds of boost, vtec is a tricky thing for a turbo build unless done properly.
