State police bomb squad

- Portsmouth police tell WAVY.com a man who walked into a Rite Aid this afternoon and threatened to blow it up, is now out of the building.
At around 2:52 p.m., police say the suspect walked into the London Blvd. store and claimed he had a bomb strapped to his chest.
If the pharmacist didn't give him a certain type of prescription drug, police say the man threatened the bomb would go off in five minutes.
Police now say the man had a computer keyboard around his neck. The manager and a pharmacist were held hostage for a short while and have since been released safely.
Police have blocked surrounding streets, resulting in traffic backups.
The state police bomb squad is now at the scene to aid in the investigation.
