Unhappy some damage from isabel in poquoson

well i'm in massanuttin right now, but i just got a call and my grandma lives on the water in poquoson.. her garage door was ripped off and everything inside the garage is gone. at the end of the driveway the water is neck deep. the highest its ever flooded there before is knee high. water was coming through her fireplace... ahh they dont have flood insurance either because in all the years that they have lived there the floods have never amounted to anything until now
her neighbors garage was completely gone and so was all of his electric tools

well this really sucks, feel free to share your damages from the hurricane.. well at least once u all get your power back

my dad stayed at our house and the last time i spoke with him, all that had happened was that a tree fell down and almost hit our house.. he also is testdriving a grand marquis(sp?) so he can have a beater car to drive to and from work. and the car got water all in it. my dad took my car to one of his friends houses so i dont know if my car is screwed up or not yet

Man, Poquoson is soo bad right now. They are saying that this is worse then the flood in 1933. So many people lost their houses. And if they did not lose their house stuff was ruined. At my old house, my mom's friend said that waves were breaking in their house. Cars were floating in the street. They say that we will probably not have power for about a week.

Talked to someone in my family that works for the power company. He told me they are just telling people a week, your looking a 2 + weeks. But there is a possibility for a week. You just never know.

Living in Poquoson without flood insurance is straight-up retarded. The name actually means, "The Great Swamp".
