Hey all,

I just got in a new front bumper, sideskirts, and wing for my car. Since they are OEM parts, I am thinking about doing the installation myself. My question is, do I install the parts, unpainted, on the car and let the bodyshop do the paint or should I take the parts there, let them paint them first, then install them on my car.

Forgot to add, the sideskirts are already painted my color, but its not in the best of shape. I'm wondering if I install them on the car, will the body shop have to take them off anyway to sand them down/prep them?

 

If the fit is suspect you install first to check for fit and tweak as necessary, then pull off and paint off the car.

 

The skirts and front bumper are OEM Porsche parts. I just wanted to install them myself because I want them installed EXACTLY how the factory installs them. Even bought all the brackets, screws, and various nick nacks from the dealership and I doubt most body shops would go through the trouble of doing that.

So you don't think I need to have them on the car for them to be able to match the color perfectly?

^ Thans man... you'll want to take part of the car and allow them to match the paint off of that.

 

Makes sense. I guess I'll just take them my existing bumper. Thanks for the input, I guess I know what I'm doing this weekend!
