Decent hotels at the beach.
A group of friends and I are coming from Richmond to the beach for the weekend and I'm trying to find a place that decent and not too expensive and on the beach for a 2 night stay. Anyone have any suggestions that would be pretty decent?
schooner (425-5222) is cheap on 3rd. Probably the cheapest hotel right on the boardwalk. I think non oceanfront rooms are 99, oceanfront are like 139 + tax or so. Used to work there a few years ago. It's not as nice as the hilton though (though i've never stayed at any of the hotels here since I live here). Kinda far to walk to the bars and shit, but the trolley stops down that way, and it's best if you DIDN'T drive anyway since parking fucking sucks everywhere.
make sure you call as early as you can for any hotel, you will be dicked come friday trying to find a room, and probably find prices jacked up higher due to nobody having rooms.

Try the Clarion, which is connected to Chix Beach Bar on 7th. Live Music Every night on the boardwalk. Every room has an ocean view. Schooner is the cheapest but at the far end of everything unless all you want to do is surf the jetty. Book early. You might get a good deal last minute, the beach is about 10% down this year.
theres a video on youtube about dirty hotels and tropicana is in there. A lot of places are like that though, with trash and shit under the bed, behind dressers and shit. The mexican/russian(and whatever over nationalities that come to work in summer) housekeepers that they pay min wage to dont give a fuck.
try the Diplomat. i dont know if theyre still open or not, as last year when i stayed they said they were going to get torn down this year. but it was boardwalk access for a cheap price and the rooms were decent too.
