anyone played kempsville greens golf course?
im playing on thursday and havent ever played there. i used to live over there so im somewhat familiar with the look of it. is there anything i should look out for througout the course? hidden hazards, etc? thanks in advance.
I've played it quite a bit.
- 1) Water down the left all the way. Straightway par 5.
- 2) water all down the left side. Play a long iron or 3w off the tee to lay back as your approach is across the water.
- 3) is a par 3. A wedge or 9 iron is all you need.
- 4) can get you in trouble. there's a lake to the right if you push it. Play out towards the bunkers through the fairway.
- 5) is a par 5. There's water in play from the box, if you come up short. This lake is inbetween 4 and 5.
- 6) is an alright par 4.
- 7) is also an alright par 4.
- 8) is a longer (430+ yards) par for. Plays back into the wind.
- 9) is a par 3. Don't go left. Woods.
- 10) is a weird par 4. Play a mid-long iron off the tee. Play to the left. Don't go long, or else you're in water.
- 11) is a total bitch. You better be able to play a fade off the tee. Be careful not to fade it too much, water down the right.
- 12) is also a bitch. Water all down the right. Play a long iron or 3w from the tee here too, unless you can drive over the water and cut the corner.
- 13) is a really short par 5. There's water on your approach shot short of the green.
- 14) is a short par 3. Kind of plays into the wind.
- 15) is a shorter par 4. Need a slight fade off the tee. Big trees and bushes down the right. Don't go right. Road over there.
- 16) Par 3. Nothing fancy.
- 17) Par 3. Over water.
- 18) Dogleg left par 4. Play a draw off of the trees near the driving range. Will put in you a good position for your 2nd shot. Also, don't go left. Nothing but water.

just driving by, it looks to be in decent condition. im worried about the hole that runs parallel to baxter rd though. haha, im gonna break someones windshield.
But overall, for the money, it's not too bad of a course. It's convenient for when I just want to go hit a ball around.

Hope it helps out your round out there some. Let me know what kind of the course is in. I haven't been out there in awhile and have been thinking of checking it out.
