Hey everyone, I am currently looking for a Pharmacy Technician Job in the areas of Va Beach/Norfolk. I have attended TCC's Pharmacy Tech Program and finished with a Diploma/Certificate. I also plan on going for my national cert(CPht) in the late summer/fall and this month will be taking my VA State Board Exam for the State Cert. Yes, I have been applying all over the place from hospitals(Iv trained) to neighborhood pharmacies to major retail ones. I was just wondering if anyone on here had a wife/husband or family friend or some type of connection in this type of field and that could put a word in or could just point me in the right direction as I would send a resume or application their way. My sister is a pharmacist and she started at the pharmacy in DePaul Hospital (it's owned by Bon Secours now, so I don't know if it's called that) on Granby Street in Norfolk. It's at least worth checking out.

 

That's where i was born, anyway you could ask if they are hiring any noobie pharm tech at the moment, if anything ill swing by there sometime and shoot em a resume, can you pm me your sisters name so i could go from there.

Yeah, I plan on going to TCC for the assoc. of science and then plan on applying to VCU or HU in about 2-3 years and go for pharmacists.

 

if you need a job pretty badly(cashflow hurt?), try riteaid, a friend of mine used to work there, and half their pharma crew left during the changeover.

 

Applied there also but haven't followed up on it yet, thing is thats one of the last place ill settle for(they make shit money) and I know from friends who are there now. But I know its all about just getting my foot in the door.

 

Yup, I hear ya. Never said the money was good there, but you know you're hurting when youre eating MREs from the early 90s cause food just cant find its way into your budget.
