I know with the original Xbox's that were moded you can install a switch that lets you play online and then you can switch it to the modded side and burn games and shit.. At least thats how mine was..

 

not sure what the mods name is but ill ask my biy who installed it i do remember him telling me it was reversable just in case i ever had to send it back for warranty
